Great question! Urinary pH is a great indication of pH in our body compared to blood pH because our blood is always maintained at a consistent level of approximately 7.4, only ranging between about 7.35 and 7.45. The kidneys filter the blood and make sure to maintain this blood pH, subsequently changing the urinary pH level in order to compensate.
With this in mind, urinary pH is not equivalent to blood pH, however it will represent to acidic or basic load.
