I grew up in Southern California just outside of Los Angeles. I earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Legal Studies. While working towards my undergraduate
degree, I discovered my passion for nutrition during a volunteer program with an on-campus group dedicated to providing local fresh fruits and vegetables to low-income families in the area.
I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science at California State University, Los Angeles. It was during this program that I became passionate about nutrition counseling and helping others achieve health and wellness through dietary and lifestyle modifications. I worked with students on-campus in the health center providing individual counseling, as well as group workshops, and providing classroom educational tools to help facilitate nutrition learning.
I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, spending time with my family, and camping.
Area of nutritional focus: nutritional biochemistry - I find it fascinating how the nutrient composition of foods interact and function in the body biologically, physiologically, and metabolically. The ability of food to heal from the inside out is truly amazing!
